Good pacing for the Jog-a-thon begins with efficient water breaks.

On January 23, 2021, the Sentinels participated in the annual Jog-a-thon, running to earn donations for their school.

Saturday's forecast was not favorable for an hour of being outside.  But for the Sentinels, rain on the day of the Jog-a-thon was a blessing in disguise.  The students were determined to run in the fundraiser they had been anticipating eagerly for the past months, and braved the weather to put some laps in the record books.  The Sentinels were joined by Fathers Dailey, Burfitt, Harber, and Polley, who also earned donations for each completed lap.  Don Bosco Tech generously lent the school their central "mall" for use as a running track, as they did last year.  Cones marked the edge of an eighth-mile path through the grass.  The starting horn sent the joggers on their way.  Some wore ponchos; others doused themselves in more water for the fun of it.  Nevertheless, the refreshment of the rain and the softness of the grass underfoot made for some impressive lap tallies.  Several students ran over four miles, although their principal, Father Dailey, was not to be outdone with forty-one laps, an astounding 8.125 mile sprint.  The success of this year's Jog-a-thon is certainly a product of the hard work of organizing the event, thanks to the parents and teachers.  In particular, the school is grateful to this year's sponsors, including Build Your Rosary Three 6 Five, Scenic Industrial, TOOL TIME, Grijalva General Contracting, network zen, Direct Tools & Fasteners, Riverfront Stages Inc.  , ampm of Bellflower, and MOVIE GLASS, INC.  Thank you for your continued support of the academy, especially in this, our major fundraiser!
